Calperum tower goes for the crows – 22 August 2017

We visited the site on 22 August and were surprised to see the crows are back.

They have built their nest on the platform that we use to stand on while checking and servicing the instruments at the top of the tower.

Fortunately, the birds do not appear to cause any interference with the instruments but clearly the working platform with a nest and my feet is not going to work!

The Mallee trees are growing well and have lots of new stems making for very bushy plants – some are now more than 2m high.

Much of the ground vegetation is drying off as it continues to be quite dry after rain in late July but very little (2mm) during June.
