Key Points
The Calperum Ecosystem Research Site consists of:
- The Calperum OzFlux Site – a twenty metre tower set in mallee vegetation in the South Australian Riverland, with an array of sophisticated atmospheric monitoring instruments, and
- Three SuperSite Plots – where ecosystem attributes, (including soils, flora, fauna, climate and biophysical processes), are measured in mallee, Callitris woodland, and River Murray floodplain ecosystems.
It is part of the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy, through the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN), with links to other national and international researchers and research networks. It is the only such site in South Australia.
