There was a fire on the 1st January 2019 reported in the Murray Pioneer on the 4th January 2019 As you can see from the image, it was above the fire in 2014 and 25 km from the Calperum Flux tower.

OzFlux 2016 held at Calperum
The national meeting of researchers from OzFlux sites, OzFlux 2016, was held at the Calperum site. Visitors were able to see the instrumentation and how the surrounding vegetation is steadily recovering since the bushfire of January 2014.

It has been a busy three months restoring the tower instruments. Now we are tracking the regrowth. Pictures show the vegetation after the fire and an emerging Mallee seedling in the foreground.
Out of the ashes
Following the fire on the 17th of January, 2014, Wayne Meyer and Georgia Koerber repaired the burnt instruments.
